bksYOGA

Coming to my mat is my JOY, and teaching yoga is my passion. I love watching my students gain confidence in their poses. I teach yoga for all ages and stages of life but I particularly enjoy working with yoga basics for flexibility with a strong focus on health, alignment and the exploration of the breath. My 200 hr training was Iyengar based and I am currently pursuing my 500 hr teacher training at the Kripalu Center. The combination of these two philosophies have given me the best of both worlds--attention to proper alignment with the encouragement to move to your own calling. Classes are modified for all levels of experience. I've worked with many different teachers: Rolf Gates, Cyndi Lee, Judith Lasater and Patricia Walden to mention a few and I draw from each of them.

In my "other life" I have a Bachelor of Science degree in studio art and a Masters in Liberal Studies from Albertus Magnus College. When I'm not teaching yoga, I write poetry, knit, walk and work at the Yale School of Art.
